OpenCup Spring 2010 competition organized by ClanBase has ended, and our achievement was quite well this season, all things consider.
Second place in the Call of Duty 2 Capture the flag
Like the last season, we once again signed up for a CTF game type. The first part of the competition, group stages, was not the best because we played only one match against Hungarian clan "never-smile " and lost by 8:5. Other opponents of the group did not show up, so with only one fight and defeat we went to the second phase of the competition.
The second stage was much better, the clans here showed up and we made are way to the finals. In this part of the competition we must point out the match in the semifinals, where we played against the clan "Devils Battalion" and beat them by convincing score of 32:5. This was our best match in history CTF clan.
We reached the finals where we met the same opponent we played against in group stages and lost. Unfortunately, we were not able to play in this finale and had to forfeit the match. Beacuse of this, we 'won' the second place and silver medal.
Despite everything, this result is better than last season when we won the third place.
CoD2 Search & Destroy
The same as with the CTF, in group stages here we didn't play almost any matches. We had only one match, but it was s great one. The match was against Croatian clan "AgnusDei" on Carentan map. We won by 13:6, but what we need to emphasize is that we played this map flawlessly, like we never played before.
Other clans had not showed up, which means we played only one match and advanced to the second phase of the competition.
In the second stage we came to the quarter-finals, and then the end. Time for this match was on Saturday at 17h, but we were not able to play at this time so we had to forfeit and thus the competition was over for us.
CoD2 Search & Destroy, FUN squad
This season, we also signed up FUN squad to get a little shooting at Cup. But FUN squad has passed the best (or worst, depending on how you look). Why?
Because in the group stages we didn't play single match, every match was win by a 'no-show'. We ended up like the first in our group and advanced to the second stage. We did not show up for the match in the second and that was the end.
As you can see, this cup recorded too much of nos-shows from clans. ClanBase has to seriously work on that which clans will they accept the future to participate in the Cup, if they want to ensure quality.
At least we won a silver medal this season, just before the summer break, which is not bad. Visit our other achievements.
